The project was born from the idea of Ricardo González, a Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) teacher with more than 12 years of experience. Initially, he would play music in class, but he noticed that his students weren’t learning enough, so he decided to create his own songs to make them more effective. He worked with a music producer and created his first project: a book with 10 songs. Ten years later, and thanks to combining his teaching experience with song lyrics, along with the use of Artificial Intelligence, the project has evolved into what you are about to discover.
Ricardo writes the lyrics for the songs, and each one focuses on a specific grammar topic in Spanish. Each song contains vocabulary adapted to the student’s level, explains the grammar covered in the lesson, and incorporates irregular verbs and more difficult expressions. This way, by listening to or, even better, singing the songs, the student learns Spanish effortlessly, while having fun, and without forgetting what they’ve learned. It’s like how we can all sing songs in English or other languages without having formally studied them.
Introducing songs into the classroom can be a valuable resource for developing critical thinking and improving linguistic skills, as music has a unique ability to connect with emotions and strengthen memory.
